Bridal Shower Teapot

My sister-in-law is marrying a wonderful guy on the beach in just a few short weeks.  Her bridal shower was this past weekend at Tea at the Gallery.  It was a lot of fun and we even learned several things about tea.  This teapot was created for the occasion.

My First Wedding Cake

Something really exciting happened back in August...two of my friends asked me to make their wedding cake!  John and Christie had the awesome idea of doing a dessert table at their wedding.  A whole TABLE of goodness...cake, cookies, brownies, cheesecakes, etc.  Why is this idea not more popular?  Anyway, they wanted a small tiered cake to be the centerpiece for said table and to cut for pictures, and they asked me if I would make it.  I was so excited and so honored.  See more pictures at Dani Rose Photo.

The cake was strawberry with a vanilla buttercream filling covered in marshmallow fondant.  The bride made the fabric flowers herself.

Big Green Monster

I've been dying to attempt a cake like this since I saw an orange one like it on Pinterest last year.  So when my mother-in-law needed a cake for a Halloween party and trusted me to be creative, I knew just what to do.

Coffin Cake

Not another teen birthday...and oh yes, this boy wanted a coffin cake.  I guess it's appropriate considering his birthday was so close to Halloween.

This was a classic vanilla cake filled and iced in buttercream and covered in fondant.  The "wood grain" was done with a mixture of food coloring and vanilla extract.

Dark Knight Birthday Cake

A coworker of mine has a son who requested a Batman cake.  No, not cartoon Batman.  This is a 14-year-old we're talking about.  He wanted a modern day Batman cake that played off the new trilogy of movies (which are amazing if you haven't seen them).  The cake was just for a family celebration.
